Location: Barking and Dagenham | Pay: £85 - £100 per day | Contract: Temp to Perm | Hours: 8:30 - 3:30

We are looking for an SEMH teaching assistant to join our team at a primary school in Barking and Dagenham. The successful candidate will work with a year 1 class and support the learning and wellbeing of all students.

The ideal candidate will have a level 3 qualification and experience working with children with social, emotional and mental health needs. We are looking for someone who can build positive relationships with students and families, and who has excellent behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the class teacher with planning and delivering lessons
  • Working with students one-on-one or in small groups to provide additional support
  • Monitoring and managing student behaviour and wellbeing
  • Building positive relationships with students, families and colleagues
  • Assisting with administrative tasks as required

Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification in education or related field
  • Experience working with children with social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
