  • SEMH Teaching Assistant* Location: Alnwick Salary: £71-£90 per day Immediate Start
An ’outstanding’ SEMH Post-16 setting in Alnwick is looking for a teaching assistant to work with a class of 6 pupils with social and emotional mental health needs. Each class has around 3 to 4 members of staff and the school provides amazing training on communication, sensory strategies and behaviour management for new members of staff.

The Main Duties Will Include
  • Supporting the pupils in their education through the schools own curriculum
  • Supporting the class teacher with recording attainment, behaviour plans and EHCP paperwork
  • Carrying out interventions in small groups and 1:1
  • Following the schools behaviour management policy effectively
  • Promoting independence with life skills
  • Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care
The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Be available for work Monday to Friday
  • Candidates with no experience but a willingness to learn are welcome to apply
  • Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with ourselves)
  • A full checkable work history
