Seed Mobile Operator / Machine Operative / Driver who has experience operating a range of processing and plant machinery, preferably within an agricultural environment, which includes driving forklift trucks and company vehicles is required to cover the Cambridgeshire / East Anglia region.


SALARY:Competitive

LOCATION:Travelling to customer locations across Cambridgeshire / East Anglia

WORKING HOURS:8am – 5pm (please read below for additional information regarding working hours)

However as with any agricultural business the company is dictated by the weather, therefore during the high seasons you will be required to be flexible with the seasonality of the business, which means during the busy period you could be required to work more than the core hours but this would be balanced with working less hours during our quieter season.


JOB OVERVIEW

We have an excellent new job opportunity for a Seed Mobile Operator / Machine Operative / Driver who has experience operating a range of processing and plant machinery, preferably within an agricultural environment, which includes driving forklift trucks and company vehicles.

As the Seed Mobile Operator / Machine Operative / Driver you will work in the efficient and safe running of the mobile seed processing section of the company’s seed business.

Working as Seed Mobile Operator / Machine Operative / Driver you will drive a support vehicle accompanying the seed lorry to customer locations with seed treatment and other equipment necessary to complete the work, ensuring that you liaise with depot staff regarding collections for seed operations.

It is important to note that you will support the Distribution Department with driving out of seed season when needed.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Seed Mobile Operator / Machine Operative / Driver will include:

  • Operate all machinery safely and in accordance with Company standards, forklift trucks, processing plant and all other company vehicles. Any records associated with this machinery must be filed and readily available
  • Ensure stock records are kept up to date, and all stock requirements from the store must be in consultation with the depot supervisor or his deputy
  • Maintain the vehicles and equipment in a clean and safe condition
  • Safe transportation and storage of any produce to prevent any form of contamination
  • Adhere to company service standards, procedures and ways of working
  • Adhere to road safety laws and the highway code
  • Adhere to all Company processes and utilise all IT systems to aid with route planning, personal safety and professional and effective delivery system
  • Ensure you and other team members work in a safe manner and follow all Health & Safety requirements and procedures
  • Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures are fully adhere to
  • Build strong and long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders across our internal and external business
  • Must have a hands-on attitude and be able to work flexibly across Seed and Distribution, out of seed season when needed

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Full Driving Licence
  • Great communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • A ‘can-do’ approach is essential
  • You need to be passionate about customer service and be happy to deal with customer queries face to face
