As our Security Team Manager you’ll assist the Security Manager to provide a 24/7 security service to Halfords Support Centre and Washford, Coventry and Crick DC’s. To assist the Central Facilities function in managing facilities requirements.

You’ll directly line manage the Crick security team, providing leadership and direction to meet their objectives individually and as a team by conducting regular one to one meetings, managing absence, and other day to day issues in line with company policies.

Engage, motivate and develop the security team whilst promoting the reputation of the security function across the business.

You’ll work a shift pattern but flexibility is required in respect of working hours and duties. They will also need to be available for “on-call” duties i.e. emergencies or resolving issues where there support is required including investigation and covert operations out of hours.

Although based at Crick they may be required to work occasionally at either site and be able to deputise for the Security Manager in his absence.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Security Team for Crick Distribution Centre.
  • Organise manning levels and shift rotas.
  • Provide timely management reports.
  • Ensure delivery of team key performance indicators
  • On-call to deal with reported incidents.
  • Investigate security incidents in line with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Manage emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Provide a front of house service supporting and carrying out reception duties.
  • Pro-actively protect company property and assets from vandalism, theft, fire and illegal activity.
  • Provide a safe, secure and courteous environment for colleagues and visitors.
  • Manage site facilities requirements and issues.
  • Deliver a cost effective and value for money service.

Duties to include, but not limited to:

  • Manage the access control system, monitor and control access at building/site entrance/exit points
  • Monitoring and controlling CCTV cameras and recording systems
  • Opening and securing of site, Setting/ un-setting of alarm system and interrogation of panels
  • Key holder/on call
  • Conducting searches of personnel, bags and vehicles
  • Investigating incidents of internal/external theft. CCTV reviewing to support Investigations of store discrepancies
  • Liaising with emergency services, police, ambulance and fire to resolve issues and maintain security and service
  • Collecting statements and evidence in reported allegations, Producing written reports
  • Responding to emergency situations as they arise and escalating incidents when required to
  • Patrol randomly or regularly building and perimeter to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, restricted areas are secure, parking violations etc
  • First Aid & fire safety, safety audit
  • Conduct internal and external site audits of building
  • Colleague Inductions
  • Out of hours supervision of contractors
  • Out of hours incident controller

What we’re looking for:

  • The Ideal candidate will be of smart personal presentation
  • A good communicator at all levels and has a confident challenging disposition.
  • Reliability and integrity are a requisite.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills, proactive and results driven, with the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Good basic PC skills (Word, Excel, Power Point) and be trained in fire prevention, and security techniques.
