We now have an excellent opportunity for a professional and motivated Security Officer to join the team, to provide security services at an educational facility based in York.

The position:

• Permanent
• 12-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
• Immediate start available, subject to vetting and passing safeguarding checks and an enhanced SC clearance.
• A valid SIA licence and driving licenceis essential.

Main responsibilities:

• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry
• Conducts locks and unlocks
• Obtains help by sounding alarms
• Prevents any losses and damage by reporting irregularities
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
• Liaises with the in-house team

Required skills and attributes:

• SIA Security Guarding Licence
• 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to communicate clearly with the general public and engage/advise when necessary
• Ability to deal with uncertainty
• Strong surveillance skills
• Professionalism
• A full, clean, UK driving licence (preferred but not essential) and own transportation to site
