BardWood Support Services are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for Security Officers that can demonstrate the confidence, experience, drive, flexibility, and determination to provide the highest standard of operational service within a busy environment. The ideal candidates will possess the skills to deliver an effective and efficient service to the organization.

As a Security Officer, you will be working based in a Port that handles the import of cars. You will be required to work as part of the security team, ensuring the welfare of staff and visitors and monitoring the day to day running of site. You will need to aid and support the team in various duties ranging from gatehouse duties, foot and car patrols, barrier patrols and vehicle/visitor searches, as well as completing the required reports and ensuring any issues and incidents are reported in a timely manner. Please note due to the nature of the role, this will require the officer to work a period of time outside, however, this will not be for the full shift.
  • Job Role: Security officer
  • Shift pattern: 4 on 4 offs, days, and nights, 12-hour shifts
  • Rates: £11.21 per hour
  • Location: DP World Southampton - SO15 1DA
  • Total hours per week: 48 hours per week’
Role Requirements
  • SIA License Holder
  • Full manual UK driving license
  • Communication must be to the highest standards
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • 5-years of checkable work history
Duties
  • Gatehouse duties, controlling ingress and egress
  • Searching people
  • Searching lorries
  • Issuing out passes
  • Barrier control
  • Dealing with incidents and issues in the correct manor
  • Ensuring the process is running smoothly from start to finish
  • Making sure Health and safety is being demonstrated whilst working
Skills needed
  • Experience in a similar role is essential
  • Physically fitness
  • Enthusiastic in delivering service excellence
  • Possess the ability to work under pressure
  • Effective Communicator
  • The ability to work independently or as a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Display a polite and professional attitude to internal and external guests
