The Prison will be the UK’s first purpose-built, new resettlement Prison. With the expected opening in early 2022, a one of a kind new generation category C new build Prison for the future; HMP Five Wells will be an integral part of the local community.


G4S Care & Rehabilitation Services (CaRS) already successfully manages 4 prisons, one secure training centre and a number of community contracts in England and Wales. The philosophy of our prisons is to rehabilitate offenders and equip them to re-integrate into mainstream society on release. We seek to normalise prison conditions as far as possible to reflect life in the outside community. Our aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe.


Reporting to the Security Intelligence Manager, we are now looking for Security Analysts, to join the Security Function at HMP Five Wells. To succeed in this role, you will be a dynamic and engaging individual, who shares our ethics and values. You must deliver an exceptional service and can be flexible in working within a fast paced environment. You will also need to have excellent communication skills resourceful and proactive individual with Digital/IT experience to use our internal security systems and equipment. You will aid and support the establishments Security Management Team in identifying and tracking threats to the establishment’s security and good order, suggesting and directing methods of resource deployment and promoting positive working relationships with other law enforcement agencies.


Initially, you will support the mobilisation of the Prison and the Security Function, then continue to build on the mobilisation success into operational business as usual, when the Prison opens in early 2022.


Some of the key responsibilities of this role are:


  • Carry out assessment and analysis of submitted Mercury Intelligence Reports, Security Intelligence Reports, Incident Reports and any other source of information
  • Develop an overview of the intelligence picture of key threats to the establishments overall security
  • Provide strategic and tactical analysis of key individuals
  • Provide strategic and tactical analysis of any identified weaknesses in the establishments security processes
  • Provide relevant briefings to the Security Management Team, provide input to the Security Committee Meeting and any subsequent tactical tasking.
  • Disseminate sanitised and relevant information to other functional meetings
  • Create analytical products and present to the senior management team.
  • Complete Risk Assessments for escorts, residents work and activities.
