The Graduate Teaching Assistant Role

Working as a graduate teaching assistant is a great way for teachers of the future to gain invaluable school based experience. As a graduate teaching assistant working at one of our client secondary schools you will be given the opportunity to grow and develop throughout the year and will find out exactly what the day of a secondary school teacher is like. As a teaching assistant you will be working with students with Special Educational Needs, and pupils of a wide range of abilities. You will be working with pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis. Each day will be different and by the end of the academic year you will be in a great position to commence your teacher training.

What we look for from a Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are always eager to hear from graduates who are passionate about working with young people and are potentially thinking about a career in teaching. You will ideally be a graduate, with some form of recent experience with young people and a desire to gain paid experience in a school setting. You may have gained your experience with young people a number of ways such as tutoring, voluntary school work, youth work, sports coaching, overseas teaching………..

The school

The school, based in Enfield has been supporting graduates with a desire to get into teaching for the past 6 years. Rated outstanding by Ofsted this is an environment where teaching assistants are given the tools needed to flourish. You will be working closely with the schools experience SENCo and will have the opportunity to get involved in extracurricular activities in your subject area to bolster your experience.
