Alfa Leisureplex Group has an opportunityfor a Second Chef to join our teambased in Torquay , covering the role at both our Regina and Metropole Hotels .

About The Job

As a Second Chef you will be required to work circa 40 hours Monday to Friday , and the rate of pay for this role is £9.98 per hour . There will be the option to live in the Hotel if required.

The primary role of the Second Chef will be to act as second in command, working in a Hotel kitchen offering table d’hote menu on a 7 day cycle system. This means the menu is repeated each week making the majority of starters, mains and sweets in-house using as much fresh produce as is available. You will work with suppliers that are already in place, and assist with budget control and hygiene standards.

As a Second Chef you will work with a small kitchen team. You will have responsibility for cooking and sending out excellent food, whilst taking a lead role in the completion of temperature control records, cleaning schedules and other related company administration documents will be required. You will also support the team with the weekly stock take, food ordering and stores security.

The ideal candidate
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the kitchen
  • High level of food hygiene and health and safety knowledge
  • Stock rotation, labelling and cost control experience
  • A passion for food by delivering consistency
