Position:

We are currently looking to strengthen our Pharmacology team and are seeking to recruit a highly motivated laboratory-based in vitro pharmacologist to join our team at Scientist or Research Scientist level (depending on experience). The Pharmacology team is responsible for both new drug target validation and supporting all drug discovery phases up to pre-clinical candidate (PCC) selection via performing assays to study pathological characteristics of GPCRs in disease.

This role will primarily involve assay development and provision of routine small/large molecule screening. In addition, you may be expected to set up and run more complex mechanism of action studies in native cellular systems.


Requirements:

The successful candidate is expected to have:

  • An undergraduate degree or PhD in pharmacology or similar biological sciences, or relevant industrial experience.
  • Practical laboratory experience such as mammalian cell culture, recombinant cell-based assays, primary cells/tissues.
  • Prior experience working with GPCRs.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated capability to operate in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.
  • The ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written reports, in English.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Previous experience using automation (such as automatic liquid handlers).
  • Experience within neuroscience, gastro-intestinal disease or immunology therapeutic areas.
  • Knowledge of techniques such as flow cytometry, imaging, radioligand binding, fluorescence-based assays.

The successful candidate will be employed by Heptares Therapeutics Ltd, a UK wholly owned subsidiary of Sosei Group Corporation.
