Job Details

Under the leadership of Dr Gary Newton, we are seeking a cell biologist with a BSc/MSc in biological/biochemical sciences (or equivalent experience) to join our biological target validation & immuno-oncology team as a Scientific Officer. The successful applicant will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to apply their skills to test and study new anti-cancer therapeutics. Knowledge and expertise in cell biology are desirable. Some familiarity with in vitro tumour mammalian models and/or immune functional assays would be an advantage however the successful applicant will have opportunities to develop their skills in these areas whilst in post.

This is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed, biologist to make an important contribution to improved therapies for cancer patients, whilst gaining additional experience and training in drug discovery.


Department/Directorate Information

This role will be based in the Division of Cancer Therapeutics, in Sutton, in state-of-the-art laboratories in the Centre for Cancer Drug Discovery. This is a multidisciplinary ’bench to bedside’ centre, comprising around 200 staff dedicated to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of cancer.
