Due to relocation and changes to working patterns, we have an exciting opportunity for two well qualified and experienced Science Technicians to join our Chemistry department. Candidates must have previous experience of working within a scientific laboratory and possess a suitable qualification. There may be the opportunity to work across more than one department – Chemistry/Biology or Chemistry/Physics.

In this key role you will supervise and organise practical provisions for chemistry lessons across years 7 to 13 (including A Level and IB) and contribute to the safe and efficient running of the prep room, with related duties outside of term time.

The team, comprising 10 specialist chemistry teachers and 4 dedicated technicians is both friendly and professional and all share a deep commitment to supporting excellent teaching and learning. The department is thriving and extremely well resourced. Around 80 students study Chemistry at A Level or IB each year, as well as over 120 studying Chemistry at GCSE. The Chemistry technicians work within a team of 10 technicians across the three sciences.

In return we can offer an interesting and varied job opportunity with support for continuing professional development, a fantastic working environment and subsidised membership of our Health and Fitness Centre. Training will be provided for less experienced candidates and there may be an opportunity to gain formal qualifications via an apprenticeship route.
