Job Title: Schools Coordinator - Full-time 35 hours per week

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum and dependent on experience

Brentford FC Community Sports Trust

With community work spanning three decades, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has established itself as a pioneering organisation for the local community. It uses the power of sport to educate, motivate and inspire people from all walks of life.

Working in partnership with Brentford FC, the Trust offers a portfolio of programmes in education, health, sports participation and community engagement. The Trust has won the ‘Football League Community Club of the Year’ award four times and now employs more than 100 members of staff. The Trust is forecasting further significant expansion over the next two years following its appointment as a key partner in the redevelopment of Gunnersbury Park [as a sports hub], and its move to new, larger, purpose-built premises directly adjacent to the new Brentford FC 17,500 capacity stadium near Kew Bridge in 2021.

General Trust Accountabilities
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant policies, including health and safety and safeguarding policies
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements
  • To build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, maintaining a professional image at all times when representing Brentford FC Community Sports Trust
  • To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Trust and its personnel
  • To maintain a flexible approach to work at all times

Main Purpose of Job

Working under the direction and support of the Community Development Manager School Sports and other key staff, coordination and deployment of BFC CST coaching workforce for the Schools Department.

Oversee timely and accurate reporting of all required relevant data to the English Football League Trust and Premier League Charitably Fund online monitoring system. To manage key school relationships and develop new provision.
  • Deployment of all school sport staff – CoachingTemp
  • Dealing with staff illness / leave
  • Manage relationships with all schools
  • Managing cover notes process
  • Primary contact for school sport staff – dealing with staff issues (risk assessments, incident report forms, equipment)
  • Line management of 2 part-time contracted staff
  • Inputting Views with support of key delivery staff
  • Coordinate with marketing & comms to ensure video and photo captures
  • Management of all school sport holiday camps – staffing, parent enquiries
  • Organising and sending booking links to schools
  • Support JOM & PLPS leads


Responsibilities
  • Daily Coordination of coaching workforce
  • Ensuring all coaching staff are complaint with and adhere to policies regarding Risk Assessments, Registers, Health and Safety, Incidents/Accidents, First Aid and other BFCCST polices as when required.
  • To oversee implementation of VIEWS across all school’s programmes (not just those funded by the PLCF) and ensure consistent and up-to-date records are kept.
  • Develop relationships with schools and key partners to ensure effective project delivery
  • To coordinate the Joy of Moving Project which is a free school-based education project for children aged between 9 and 10. The programme encourages physical activity, promotes nutritional education and builds awareness of the importance of a healthy diet and active lifestyle. Over a six-week programme, children spend time in the classroom learning about the body, nutrition and the importance of exercise – this is then followed by a session dedicated to playing football, dodgeball and Joy of Moving games


The Selection Criteria Essential
  • Football Association Level 1 or above/Other NGB sports qualifications
  • Safeguarding Children (FA or equivalent)
  • Emergency Aid (FA or equivalent)
  • Current DBS
  • Experience of line managing and coordinating of staff
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team
  • Enthusiasm and energy to work under pressure
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office / IT skills)
  • Mobile with own transport
  • To be able to work outside of normal work hours


Desirable
  • FA Youth Modules
  • AfPE Level 3 PESS qualification
  • Experience of delivering coaching sessions (e.g., PE Lesson)
