We are seeking to recruit a School Finance Assistant to join our successful, enthusiastic and friendly School Business Support Team.This is a varied and interesting role providing both finance support in schools and working as a hybrid worker based in West Offices. The role will involve travelling either from West Offices or home, to schools, some of which are based in rural locations. There may also be travelling between schools.You will need strong communication and organisational skills and have confidence to work independently while in school.Ideally you will have experience working in a finance office. This role also involves providing finance support for schools through a help desk and co-ordinating meetings through a variety of platforms. You will also undertake various administrative tasks supporting the traded York Education School Business Support Service.The right candidate will be someone with a friendly and helpful approach who is proactive in their work. They will be expected to be highly numerical, and have an eye for detail, essential when processing financial documents in a busy environment. They will hold a qualification in book keeping, have good GCSE’s, have excellent keyboard skills and proficient using Microsoft applications including excel, word and outlook.The authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
