School Coordinator – Gen+

12 month FTC

Aberdeen based with travel required

Gen+ is a charity organization that aims to build meta-skills capacity for every pupil and their teacher in Scotland. Our mission is to equip young people with timeless and transferable skills that will help them learn, lead, and thrive in any area of learning, work, and life. With a focus on developing communication, collaboration, initiative, organization, resilience, and leadership skills, our world-leading digital platform engages learners with fun and interactive lessons to unlock their full potential. Teachers lead pupils through the digital platform in a blended learning model, and also benefit from Gen+ Teach, which provides transformative and innovative teacher professional development to support, equip and inspire our leaders of learning.

We are now expanding our current reach from 11 schools this year, and are now embedding the Gen+ Leaders programme within schools in the North East, Angus and Perth regions. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our team as a School Coordinator for this region so that schools in the North East, Angus and Perth can become Gen+ schools of excellence.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for training teaching staff in the region,and acting as the on-the-ground liaison between school staff and the Gen+ team.

You will also be responsible for gathering high-quality feedback from pupils and staff, to support the programme’s evidence and impact work on the ground. In addition, you will train teachers and teach lessons to model best practices for how teachers can deliver the programme. You will also support the embedding of Gen+ Teach within schools’ CPD plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Training of teaching staff
  • Manage and run the Gen+ Meta-Skills Leaders Programme
  • Act as the on the ground liaison between school staff and the Gen+ team
  • Responsible for gathering/ensuring the completion of feedback from pupils and staff
  • Implement a cohesive and consistent system for feedback collection and collation
  • Gather case studies
  • Support the programme evidence and impact work on the ground
  • Teaching lessons to model how teachers can deliver the programme
  • Support the embedding of the Gen+ programme
  • Ensuring visibility of Gen+ across the schools within the buildings and digitally
  • Collecting and sharing success stories to be developed as digital stories for social media
  • Connect and build relationships with DYW and SDS coordinators and other organisations TBD to collaborate where appropriate
  • Create social media content to amplify Gen+ school activity
  • Support the embedding of Gen+ teach within schools’ CPD plans, this inludes helping to deliver webinars and in person events and stimulating peer and school to school networking
  • Coordinate and support testing of new materials and programmes
  • Assist in the collection of data for programme reporting
  • To carry out other such appropriate duties that maybe reasonably required to successfully carry out the role
  • Support the wider team as and when required

Skills & Experience required

  • Previous experience of working in a youth/school/learning and development setting
  • Experience in project management or coordination – ability to manage a range of tasks concurrently
  • Admin – data collection, collating information, report writing
  • Minimum three years’ work experience
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365
  • Good interpersonal and communication skill
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Able to effectively develop and deliver content to a diverse group of people
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and prioritise workload
  • Able to use own initiative and work flexibly
  • Suitable to work with children, young people & vulnerable adults
