School Buildings Officer


The Church of England Diocese of Portsmouth covers 139 parishes across south-east Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. It embraces areas from the heart of urban Portsmouth to the rolling hills of the South Downs.


A great opportunity has arisen to work as part of our dedicated joint diocesan education team, supporting over 150 Church of England schools and academies across both dioceses.


The School Buildings Officer’s primary workstream is to ensure that capital funding is allocated appropriately such that Diocesan interests are represented and managed during the maintenance, improvement and development of church school buildings. Other related administrative tasks are also undertaken as part of the role.


Experience of working within a financial or education administration context is desirable but not essential. Evidence of skills related to project management and developing approaches to delivering government money would be an advantage.


Applicants must be highly organised, with excellent communication and IT skills (particularly Excel), a good team player, enthusiastic and able to work to deadlines. Own transport essential as some travelling may be required.
