We are seeking a 10 PA substantive SAS doctor to work at Meridian House to support the Older Adult CMHT.The team covers the geographical area that covers the Airewhrafe Valley (supporting service users registered with GP practices in this sector). This broadly covers the Towns of Keighley and Bingley and further away the scenic Town of Ilkley and the villages of Haworth, Oakworth, Addingham and Wilsden. The team base in Keighley is served by good rail and road links and free parking is available on site.The role of the SAS doctor in the OPMH service will be to provide support to the Airewharfe Memory assessment and Treatment Service (MATS) and supporting service users under the CMHT stream (who will either have an established diagnosis of Dementia or non- dementia related psychiatric illness). Service users will either be seen in a clinic or as home visits. Support may rarely be given to seeing patients very well known to the Team on the Airedale Hospital acute wards.Come and create the future with us!Main duties of the jobClinical duties include
  • New patient assessments and reviews, input to CPA reviews and consultation with care coordinators and social work colleagues
  • Liaison with colleagues in the psychological therapies’ services
  • assessment of patients in different settings - including at the Airedale General Hospital where liaison is requested
  • Psychiatrist input to the Intensive Home Treatment team for Aire/Wharfe/Craven, based at the Airedale Centre for mental Health
  • Liaison with in-patient services - including formulation and CPA meetings (on very rare occasions)

  • MBChB, MBBS or equivalent

ExperienceEssential
  • Relevant experience in General Adult Psychiatry (at least three years’ experience)
  • Current and relevant knowledge of the principles of General Psychiatry Registered for CPD.
Desirable
  • Clinical Experience in a setting working in a multi-cultural, multiethnic setting
  • Previous experience in acute inpatient setting/ PICU
  • ’Good Standing’ for CPD
