PURPOSE STATEMENT
  • Responsible for developing, monitoring and ensuring proper sanitation practices are conducted throughout the facility, for all associates who will participate in the cleaning and/or sanitation process.
  • Recommends improvement in manufacturing methods and sanitation practices to management.
  • Oversees the development of validated Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Develops and implements short-term and mid-term business plans for department and assists in the development of the strategic plan for the plant, that aligns with corporate requirements and initiatives.
  • Work closely with the 3rd party inventory, chemical and pest suppliers, holding them to service expectations.
Key Accountabilities/Outcomes
  • Ensuring the production areas, warehouse and all peripheral areas of the factory are cleaned to the required Company and customers standards.
  • Manage and lead a team of Sanitation specialists to ensure the factory is cleaned and maintained with accordance to timescale stated on the cleaning schedule and company standard.
  • Develops, manages and directs plant SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures) and programs, ensuring all plant equipment is clean and safe for production. Ensures program is in compliance with all applicable regulatory, internal, corporate, and FSA requirements.
  • Ensure all new cleaning equipments, materials and chemicals are assessed and approved with accordance to the QMS and is safe to use in food manufacturing factory.
  • Develop, manage and review the cleaning schedule to ensure full compliance with customers and acrediated standards through microbiological risk assessment.
  • To perform internal audits to verify the standarard of cleaning on determined frequency.
  • Protective clothing management and inventory maintenance to ensure adequate supply to meet production demand.
  • Develop and maintain lockers facilities and manage locker allocation to all associates.
  • Ensure all records are completed to company standards to provide the company with the right due diligence meeting legal and customer’s standard/requirements.
  • Trouble shooting/investigate to ensure full compliance to Microbiological environmental monitoring program (EMP) and tolerance.
  • Maintain and review verification and validation programme for cleaning, laundry and pest control.
  • Participates in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality and sanitation improvements. Facilitates problem resolution related to sanitation and quality issues.
  • Develops Monitors, maintains and reports required operational information to management.
  • Ensures that all GMP and Safety standards are in compliance.
  • Participates in weekly TPM meetings, supports changing the environment to achieve goals set for Safety, %Yield Improvement and MTBF
  • Support the team on customer visit/audits and accredition audits.
  • Support HACCP team as a supporting/expert team member and ensure actions are completed as when necessary to reduce/eliminate the risk to food safety.
  • Mentors and motivates associates, providing training and development to optimize their performance and personal growth.
  • Communicates performance standards to associates, recognizing and rewarding individual and team accomplishments and counseling performance problems. Ensures all associates have the resources and capabilities to effectively accomplish their responsibilities.
  • Identifies associates capable of developing in a sanitation role, as part of the succession planning process.
  • Manage cleaning equipment, cleaning materials and chemical inventory to ensure sufficient supply to allowed for site standard to be maintained.
  • Manage external pest control contractor and ensure all non conformity/issues raised are address within a timely manner.
  • Manage high level and annual silo cleaning contractors to ensure cleaning has been completed to company standard and within budget
  • Manage external laundry service supplier to ensure contractual service effeciently and on budget.
  • In association with 3rd party suppliers and plant initiatives, develops ROCS projects and projected savings
