Background
Our client, a leading provider of products within scientific research, are looking for a Sales Manager to join their growing team. The company contribute towards scientific discovery through the provision of innovative life science technology and products for R&D within the medical, cosmetics, nutrition and other sectors. They have been established for 35 years now and work with scientific manufacturers, universities and biotech companies as examples.

Role Summary
The company are searching for an experienced Sales Manager to be responsible for direct sales activities and building a commercial sales team. They are looking for someone with experience selling in the molecular, cell or immunology sector, preferably with reagents and services, so someone who is able to grasp the commercial reality of advanced life science technology offerings. The role is both office and field based.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Field customer visits to build relationships and manage accounts
  • Managing and building a capable sales team, both field and office based
  • Key account building and management
  • Networking with existing customers
  • Selling within the reagents and services market
  • Guiding the marketing department and attending exhibitions

Job Requirements:

  • A 2:1 or above in a Life Science degree (Biology, Biochemistry etc.)
  • Experience in a Sales Manager or Field Sales Manager role within Life Science
  • Capable of managing small sales teams
  • Experience of key account building and management
  • Full UK Driver’s license and willingness to travel internationally
