Within Aylesbury we are the warehousing and distribution Hub for the UK, have a mechanical systems solutions department and a smart control systems assembly department.

My client holds worldwide patents for leading edge circuit breaker technology - even some of their competitors’ products are manufactured.


Offer circuit breakers and power management solutions for the electrical protection and serves the following markets: Mobility & Transport, Industry & Production, Process & Control Technology, Telecommunications & Datacom,
Medical & Equipment Technology.

The role.

Both onsite and out in the field.

Client meets, coldcalling, account management. A full bodied sales role.

The reason for this role is due to growth and a launch of a new product range.

  • Be a key contact for new and existing customers, responding to enquiries,
    utilising a consultative approach alongside the internal sales team
  • A critical part of the role involves the ability to discuss, understand and
    accurately interpret customers/potential customers’ technical requirements
  • Generating technical sales proposals/pricing/quotations and progressing
    these to purchase orders, liaising with other members of staff as appropriate
    and to ensure that clients’ technical and other needs are fully met in a timely
    manner.
  • Ensure that all quotations are being followed up
  • Conduct regular visits as required to meet with both new and existing clients
    throughout the UK
  • Provide an exceptional level of customer service to enhance and improve
    customer relationships and ultimately revenue of the business
  • Develop existing business within the areas you are responsible for to its
    maximum profitable potential
  • Build and Maintain long lasting relationships with the existing customer base
  • Achieve growth and meet / exceed sales targets (Bookings & Billings)
  • Deliver high quality sales presentations to groups of decision makers in target
    accounts
  • Lead and manage all commercial aspects of the relevant SBF’s for which you
    are responsible
  • In conjunction with Management, develop the Sales strategy for your SBF’s.
  • Work in conjunction with the Management Team and colleagues to drive and
    develop new business opportunities.
  • Identify lists of target customers by analysing and segmenting the market
    based on customer needs and clients potential.
  • Create and execute strategic business development plans targeted towards
    identifying and closing key customer engagements.
  • Develop target account penetration strategy using relationships with
    customer’s executive management, and familiarity with the customers’
    markets and products.
  • Deal with application and technical enquires
  • Network with the UK Systems department and group regarding
    applications, technical enquiries, other services and market opportunities
  • Maintain internal systems and records and meet reporting, planning and visit
    frequence standards (Lotus Notes / CRM).
  • Work closely with Marketing & Marketing Communications team to create lead
    generation programs/events specific to the relevant SBF.
  • Provide business forecasts and market intelligence to the management
    and R&D departments.
  • Track and manage all New Business Opportunities and develop them to the
    point of closure cost-effectively.
  • Take part in local and global sales meetings and produce previously agreed
    sales reports such as lead conversion reports, sales reports and backorder
    reports
  • Keep abreast of sector trends and conduct market research to assist the
    company in providing the most appropriate and leading edge products and
    services.

Requirements:

Relevant electrical or electronic engineering degree or 5+ years of successful business development experience gained within the electronics industry from both a strategic and technical perspective.

Strong engineering / technical background

Demonstrable track record of leading and closing major business opportunities.

Proven relationships and demonstrable ability to successfully influence senior level management, and executives of companies in the clients target markets.

Great IT skills including Microsoft Office, Social Media Platforms,

Excellent communication and presentation skills to multiple audiences (business and technical)

Strong financial and negotiation skills.
