Candidates should have the right to live and work in UK

• For the apprenticeship program we prioritize applicants eligible to government funding for their apprenticeship and for this you need to:
• Have lived in the UK or in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years
• Be a resident in the country you are applying for the entire duration of the program
• Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending June 2022 or later
• You will be 18 years old or older before the contract’s start date
• Bachelors Degree in any subject and work experience in a safety focused role

Please note, you will be required to evidence your qualifications. If you have gained qualifications outside of the UK you will be required to evidence that they are equivalent.

Amazon is a 24/7 operation, you must have flexibility in working hours and shift patterns to provide cover for operational requirements as this role may include working weekends and/or night shifts.

Your recruitment process will start with your online application (providing your CV as well as answering questions about the above basic qualifications) and will then take you onto online testing.

As a last step, we will invite successful candidates to an assessment center where they will participate in a group exercise, execute a practical exercise and get a chance to present their profile, motivation and skills 1-on-1 during interviews or presentations.

Key job responsibilities
As a working student your primary focus is to complete your studies by learning and developing your skills, knowledge and behaviors to work towards successful graduation. You will be set objectives and goals by your training provider and hiring team to support your studies.

A day in the life
As a safety specialist at Amazon, you’ll gain a vast range of useful experiences and skills. You will work towards the Level 4 Process Lead Apprenticeship, as well as gaining Level 6 NCRQ professional diploma in Applied Health & Safety.

You will build your skills over a 24-month period starting in June 2022 which will help you develop personally and professionally. Your apprenticeship will be made up of;

• Classroom/virtual based training to cover knowledge,
• On-the-job training in an Amazon fulfilment Centre or Sort Centre
• Online learning & Portfolio building
• Mentoring from our safety team members.

Alongside extensive development of your technical skills, you will also grow your abilities in crucial complementary areas like organization, prioritization, data and problem-solving techniques, teamwork, communication, and presentation skills.
You will work alongside the team supporting with day to day tasks learning how Amazon Safety works and delivers for its customers. As your knowledge and skills increase over the duration of the scheme you will have opportunities to be part of and lead projects, making a difference for customers. The on the job experience will help you build a portfolio of evidence towards your apprenticeship. You will be given dedicated time to focus on your studies to help you stay on track and work towards successfully completing your qualifications. Once you have successfully completed the apprenticeship and achieved the qualifications, you will be able to apply for relevant roles across the business.
You will attend a number of workshops across the duration of the apprenticeship, workshops will be online delivery by a training provider. You will also attend internal workshops/ trainings to support you in developing Amazon related skills and knowledge.

• Personal injury liability and absence reduction

• Essentials of Leadership
• LEAN Principles

About the team
Amazon is the perfect place to enhance your career in Safety. Safety Specialist apprentices can work with a number of functions, including loss prevention, HR and Operations Management, working with managers and teams to help deliver big or small projects successfully.

Preferred Qualifications/skills
These will be a plus for your career at Amazon but are not necessary to enter the programme.

• You have previous experience of working in a Health & Safety role
• You are able to operate in a challenging and fast paced environment,
• You are able to demonstrate drive and passion.
