The Opportunity and Role

Code 9 Security is recruiting for two full-time security officers to join a new shopping centre security ambassador team in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

You will need to be of good fitness, have excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player. As part of a small close-knit local team, you will play a vital role in providing a warm, friendly welcome to customers, support our retailers and delight the public with exceptional customer service.

This is a frontline security role, so you will need to be confident and tactful in dealing with challenging situations, deescalating tension and finding positive outcomes for all stakeholders.

You will be fully supported by a highly experienced leadership team, both from Code 9 Security and our client, and will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your role to improve our service and delight our stakeholders.

It is imperative you are fully conversant in spoken and written English. You will be expected to prepare reports, account for occurrences and maintain proper records.

How much will I get paid?

We are pleased to be offering a living wage guarantee, starting at £11.34 per hour, with 28-days paid annual leave, contributory pension scheme and continuing professional development.

What is the Shift Pattern and how many hours?

Your normal working hours will be based on 4 duty days, followed by 2 rest days. This is an average of 41 hours per week, between 08:45 and 18:15 Monday – Saturday, and 09:45 – 17:15 on Sundays (and public holidays).

You will enjoy premium rates of pay for bank holidays, will have occasional overtime opportunities and career progression, if desired.

Getting to Work

On-site parking is available on your duty days, or if you don’t drive, the local bus station and train station are less than a 5-minute walk.

Uniform

You will be provided with uniform, which must be worn while on duty.

Screening and Vetting

You will need to complete screening and vetting in accordance with British Standards. This is a simple process managed digitally. You will be provided with full details on application.

To Apply, You Must

Have a frontline SIA Licence in Security Guarding or Door Supervision;

Have a frontline SIA Licence in CCTV;

Be able to provide a 5-year checkable employment history;

Be able to provide a 5-year checkable address history;

Be able to provide references; and

Be willing to contribute to a close-knit team who care about their work.

It Would Be Great If You Also Had

Experience in retail or shopping centre environments;

A first aid qualification; and

A connection to the local community.

Day To Day, You Will Be Expected To

Greet customers and build a rapport with retailers;

Respond to incidents professionally and with confidence;

Deter, detect and respond to criminal behaviours;

Operate CCTV, Radios and other Control Room systems;

Provide first aid and support our safeguarding endeavours as required;

Cooperate with your colleagues and the Client’s management team;

Maintain positive first impressions and support the overall excellent presentation of the business.
