Delivery of mandatory safeguarding training and ‘realtime’ awareness raising on national and local safeguarding updates.

To improve patient safety through the application of a robust competence-based framework of safeguarding training

To plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation

Trust’s statutory and mandatory training portfolio in respect of safeguarding subjects, to include co-production and joint facilitation with service-users, and other experts by experience
  • Inform the Education cycle within the Trust including the development and delivery of competency-based training in response to identified need
  • Evaluate the impact of statutory and mandatory training and CPD on the quality of patient care
  • Undertake service performance measures including patient outcomes, service-user and staff feedback, serious incident themes
  • Ensure that through horizon scanning, accessing learning through national and local reviews and keeping abreast of legislation and research the Trust is up to date with emerging themes, duties and evidence-based practice
  • Ensure that through the use of media and other communication formats including workshops and ‘pop up’ learning events the wider workforce is aware of current good practice and findings from national and local reviews.
The safeguarding team within the trust provides advice and consultation on all aspects of safeguarding to a broad range of professionals. The ethos of the team and wider organisation is that safeguarding is everybody’s business, must always be patient focused and committed to personal choice, this means ensuring people are supported to protect themselves or their families wherever possible.
