The Rothercare & Assistive Technology service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and delivers an emergency response service, which is designed to assist adults living in their own home to live independent lives, whilst reducing the risks and having reassurance that help is just a button press away.

The main function of the service is to respond to alerts generated from a customer’s property via specialist technology; for example, if they have fallen, experiencing a medical or environmental emergency or pressed their pendant requesting assistance

The service currently has 2 x vacancies in the role of Rothercare Assistant.

Required

The successful candidates will be required to work on a three shift rota system, which includes Days, Afternoons and Night shifts, including some weekends and bank holidays

Day shift 6am-1pm; Afternoon shift 1pm-8pm; Night shift 8pm-6am

The Rothercare Assistant role is varied and fast paced, combining the following elements:

Control Centre operator (computer/telephony system)

Mobile response visits to customers property e.g. to assist after a fall using specialist lifting equipment

Installation of Rothercare equipment and some technology enabled care equipment.

We are looking for an effective communicator who has the skills to quickly undertake risk assessments, problem solve, and remain calm in emergency situations.

To be able to accurately record customer interactions and update data systems in line with the Rothercare Service procedures and General Data Protection Regulations.

To provide an excellent level of customer service, this includes having awareness of and meeting internal and external performance criteria and quality standards.

Full training will be given, however experience of using computer and telephony systems would be advantageous.

A full valid Driving License is required, the successful candidate is required to undertake a RMBC driving assessment as driving the Service vehicles is part of the role.

From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2022 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded of three additional day’s leave (pro rata for part-time).
