Want to be more than just a cog in the machine? As a Lead Engineer with Reckitt, you’ll have the freedom to make sure the whole operation runs like clockwork.


Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, this role involves leading a multi-disciplined engineering maintenance team within a FMCG manufacturing environment to ensure delivery of functional maintenance KPI’s. The Lead Engineer will ensure that all items of plant and equipment are maintained to the appropiate standard to ensure that their performance is safe, reliable and in accordance with the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice.


The person needs to become the technical expert in their area and have the ability to assess operational efficiency of all plant and equipment, identifying areas of underperformance or the opportunity to implement plans to deliver improvements.


The Lead engineer ensures that the area maintenance policies and procedures comply with company, regulatory and statutory requirements including areas of Health and Safety, Environment, GMP and Quality.

Skills & Qualities


Is this you?


  • Either HND/Degree in Engineering or related subject with 2 - 3 year’s expereince in a engineering/maintenance/project management role
  • Apprentice trained in an engineering discipline with a minimum of 3 years experience as a craftsman
  • 2 - 3 years experience in a FMCG operation minimum with expereince in a ’high care’ environment such as pharmaceutical/food being desirable
  • Data Driven and analytical skills with drive to implement improvements
  • Awareness of quality/good manufacturing practice
  • Good working knowledge and application of UK regulatory standards with expereince of working in COMAH and DSEAR environments being advantageous
  • Knowledge and application of ISO14001, OHSAS18001 and ISO9001 standards
  • Excellent understanding and experience in application of a CMMS system with a working knowledge of SAP maintenance being desirable
