We are looking for a skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our friendly, busy Respiratory & Critical Care Physiotherapy Team at the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust. This respiratory rotational post covers Critical care, the respiratory ward, respiratory outliers and acute NIV. The role also involves providing respiratory education to the wider acute physiotherapy team, alongside 2 other rotational band 6 respiratory specialist physiotherapists.We have a 19-bedded critical care unit at RCHT with a mixed caseload of level 3 and level 2 patients. We have a dynamic, close working AHP team, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, dieticians and psychologists. The role includes critical care rehabilitation and following complex patients through their rehabilitation journey on to the wards as part of the critical care MDT. We have an ICU follow up clinic which there will be opportunities to be involved with.This post is fully supported by the clinical lead physiotherapists in Respiratory / Critical care. As a team we are focused on service development, ongoing education, and training.We are looking for a team member who can provide decisive and effective Physiotherapy input.This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week, and includes flexible working across 7 days by fully participating in our weekend and respiratory on-call service.To provide a high standard Physiotherapy service to patients at Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust.To provide specialist assessment, treatment, and goal setting of patients on the wards or in an out-patient setting. Some patients may have complex and/or chronic presentations. To determine clinical diagnosis and Physiotherapy treatment indicated. To maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.To develop highly specialist skills under the guidance of the Senior Staff.To provide clinical cross cover within your team as delegated by your Clinical Team Lead.To attend clinical level discussions/meetings relating to your area of work as delegated by your Clinical Team Lead.This respiratory rotational post includes rotations in critical care, the respiratory ward + outliers, acute NIV as well as providing respiratory education to the wider acute team, alongside 2 other rotational band 6 respiratory specialist physiotherapists.To work flexibly across 7 days, to include on call and weekend shifts.To be a bleep holder and in the case of NIV to be able to respond and deal with an acute case needing the setting up, delivery and monitoring of NIV in conjunction with the Respiratory consultant. In Critical Care to be able to attend a deteriorating patient and provide the appropriate treatment.Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target.
