Detailed Job Description And Main ResponsibilitiesFor full details of the job and the main responsibilities, please see the attached job description and person specification documents, which are in both English and Welsh.Main duties of the jobThe posts have been created with the primary goal of increasing the range and depth of respiratory services in YGC, to strengthen the support provided to the newly configured EQ and support the expansion of respiratory inpatient beds (a new respiratory ward is to be configured in addition to the existing dedicated respiratory ward). All members of the respiratory team will share responsibility for these aspirations, and it is envisaged the current rotational arrangement among the consultant physicians will continue to provide cover for referrals, existing respiratory inpatient beds and respiratory in-reach.The appointees will be committed to the post receiving ward rounds following on call commitments. Outpatient clinic templates are in line with RCP guidance (New- 30 minutes, Review- 15 minutes) there is a robust mentorship program within YGC accessible by the appointee, the appointees will have responsibility for acute respiratory inpatients, and will share the junior doctor’s team with the existing consultant physicians. The appointees will be expected to provide professional supervision and teaching for junior medical staff, to contribute to local undergraduate and postgraduate activity and to participate in clinical audit, continuing professional development, clinical governance activities and to commit to revalidation requirements including annual appraisal.
