About the role

Job title: Learning & Resources Officer
Location: Gateshead Office with remote working
Salary: £30,230.00 per annum

We are looking to recruit a Learning & Resources Officer to join the Employability and Careers team at Education Development Trust.
Working as part of the Business Improvement Team the Learning and Resources Officer will lead on the creation of high-quality multimedia resources and learning materials used by direct delivery staff to support the ESF contracts delivered by EdDvTrust Employability and Careers, as well as sharing learning and best practice across the Employability and Careers portfolio of contracts.
The role holder will work in partnership with Contract Managers to design and deliver blended learning solutions based on business needs with the application of learning theory and pedagogy to ensure beneficiaries are receiving ‘best in class’ resources and a high-quality user experience.

Person specification:
Knowledge
Essential:

  • Educated to minimum Level 4 (or equivalent) in a relevant area or ability to demonstrate significant relevant experience
  • Proven knowledge of, and passion for, digital content trends matched with working knowledge of user experience-led learning design and accessibility standards
  • Knowledge and understanding learning standards, in particular relating to eLearning
  • Deep knowledge of diversity, equality and inclusion

Desirable:

  • A Careers guidance/employability qualification
  • Commitment to continual professional development, in particular in the field of learning and development

Experience
Essential:

  • Prior experience working as a learning and development professional
  • Demonstrable experience in the design and development of learning resources, within a design / e-learning / digitally focused position
  • Demonstrable experience of working with a range of learners from different backgrounds
  • Use of monitoring and evaluation tools to measure the impact of activities and provide feedback on this to inform future planningDesirable

Proven experience in the use of learning and teaching resources in a teaching environment

  • Experience of working in an employability and/or careers related field
  • Experience of updating a web content management system or file storage system
  • Project management experience, managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven experience of using social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn for business purposes and to support the delivery of messages
  • Experience of using appropriate tools to create visually appealing and professional resources, eg Adobe Creative Cloud.

Skills
Essential:

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to use initiative in problem solving
  • Ability to provide strong leadership and influence across a range of internal stakeholder groups, including influencing change at a senior level
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team but also to work independently
  • Excellent organisational skills to include time management of own work
  • Ability to meet deadlines and achieve targets and implement contingency plans where necessary
  • Excellent IT skills including all Microsoft Office software
  • Apply a flexible approach to work activities including travel as required to meet business objectives
  • Display an open mind and positive attitude to work and colleagues

Desirable

  • Established project management skills
