Position: Resource Analyst
Division: Rail Services
Location: Rugby
Reporting to: Fleet Resource Manager
Purpose of The Role
To provide detailed data analyses on Freight Resource costs KPIs and administrative support to the Freight Operations team.
Key Success Measures
  • Safety-Support the implementation of the Colas Rail Limited Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) strategy, associated actions and resulting initiatives, to deliver continuous improvement in all areas.
  • Profitability-Ensure work is carried out with a continuous view to profitability and efficiency and look after our shareholders by guaranteeing that they see value for money and a profitable business.
  • Quality-Quality is key to competitiveness. Take responsibility for delivering on time and on budget a high quality product or service, which Colas Rail can take pride in.

Key Areas of Accountability
  • Develop, update and distribute Freight KPI reports
  • Provide detailed analyses on fuel consumption, locomotive and tank refuels
  • Provide detailed analyses on external resource and fuel spend
  • Provide detailed analyses on locomotive utilisation and availability
  • Raise requisitions for the provision of Freight goods and services
  • Acknowledge/process the receipt of goods and services (Goods Received Notes)
  • Update, maintain and validate Fuelling Log (Locomotive refuels)
  • Update, maintain and validate External Resource Hire Log
  • Attend freight meetings
  • Circulate freight reports and briefs
  • Support projects and initiatives as directed by the Fleet Resource Manager
