Park Blue Homes is a residential provider for children and young people aged 7-17 years who display emotional, challenging behaviours, and who have mild learning difficulties. We are looking for Waking Night Support Workers to join one of our teams at our home in County Durham.

As a Waking Night Support Worker you will be on hand to offer the young people support throughout the night if required, along with a staff member on sleep in duty.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorships.

The right candidate will need to have a strong personality and be enthusiastic and passionate about providing a high standard of quality care which meets individual young people’s needs.

Main Roles & Responsibilities

- Ensure the safeguarding of the young people living in the home

- Maintaining a safe living and working environment

- Adhere to all policies and procedures and ensure that these are followed by team members

- Building and maintaining positive relationships with young people and to help increase their self-confidence and self-worth.

- Qualifications & Skills

Some recording duties are required and candidates must therefore have basic computer literacy skills.

Previous experience in caring for people is preferred but for candidates who are committed and willing to learn, this is not essential as full training will be given.

Under the terms of the Children’s Homes Regulations, due to the ages of the young people we look after, all applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

Pre-employment Checks

All employees will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and will need to provide a current employer reference, a further reference from a previous employer and a character reference.
