The University of Nottingham has more than 25 years of history in delivering Energy research with major investments in world class facilities. The recently relaunched University of Nottingham Energy Institute, led jointly by the Faculties of Science, Engineering and Social Sciences, aims to continue driving research and investment in response three key Energy Challenges: 1. Transport and Mobility, 2. Energy Generation and Management and 3. Communities and the Built Environment. Driving forward with eleven cross-cutting themes, the Institute will bring together academic expertise from across these Faculties to further address national and regional energy challenges and deliver high profile impact. We are looking for a Research Development Manager that can support the delivery of this vision by leading the development of funding proposals, identifying and enabling the right opportunities, and coordinating proactive input and from across the Faculties.

Candidates must have significant experience in a research development role, a strong understanding of funding application processes with different funding bodies and a track record of developing successful cross-disciplinary, major, large scale funding applications. Experience of identifying and developing fellowship applications for early career researchers is also a key part of the role. Reporting to Head of Operations, the role holder will work with the Institute’s Director and Executive Board in identifying, planning and managing research activities and funding opportunities across the three Faculties. The successful candidate will be dynamic, organised and will have a calm and positive attitude in working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally sometimes on challenging and conflicting deadlines.

This full-time (36.25 hour) post is fixed-term for a period of 3 years. Job share arrangements may be considered.
