About us

The Research Department of Primary Care and Population Health (PCPH) is part of the Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care and is headed by Professors Greta Rait and Kate Walters. The Department’s strategic aim is to deliver high quality teaching in community-based primary care and public health and to undertake a programme of internationally competitive multi-disciplinary research addressing the management and prevention of disease in individuals and populations in areas which are of priority to the health of the public.

About the role

The main purpose of the job is the general and financial administration of research projects. It also involves help with costing and submitting applications, supporting meetings, organising events, and supporting research in other ways.

This is a fixed-term role for 1 year in the first instance, from 1 November 2023 to 31 October 2024.

About you

The role is ideally suited to someone who has research administration experience and who wishes to further a career in University administration and/or research project management. The successful candidate will be highly organised and pro-active, enthusiastic, hardworking and able to prioritise workloads within an, at times, pressured research environment.

The post holder will possess proven administrative, IT and organisational skills. The post holder will have a good working knowledge of MS office packages, excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
