To support our ongoing growth strategy, we are on the immediate look-out for a dynamic Relationship Manager who can take personal accountability for managing all aspects of Global Service’s business relationship with a portfolio of our cruise line and commercial shipping customers.

This involves building first class relationships with their account managers and buyers, establishing their procurement requirements across a broad range of product categories and sourcing the best suppliers and products to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process all customer enquiries, quotes and orders ensuring customer needs are correctly interpreted, identifying the right products to sell
  • Process purchase orders on suppliers, ensuring best pricing, delivery and terms
  • Monitor deliveries from suppliers and advise customers on a regular basis of the delivery progress with their orders
  • Work closely with our Expeditor and Logistics teams in the UK and Netherlands, ensuring work is delegated effectively with clear deliverables and communication between colleagues
  • Proactive follow up of all quotes to maximise conversion to orders
  • Proactive outbound targeting of new and/or dormant customers to re-engage with them and grow business between us
  • Identify new areas of business and target accordingly (i.e. offer our services to other buyers and departments)
  • Co-operate with sales team to ensure the best products, fulfilment and delivery options are offered to customers
  • Learn and develop new skills and attend training specified by the company
  • Provide market intelligence to the Head of Sales
  • Keep up to date on proposed legislation and its impact on our customers and suppliers
  • Attend trade shows, visit customers and shipyards in the UK and internationally when required

Person Specifications/Attributes

  • Clear, empathetic, positive interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Seeks to understand before seeking to be understood with colleagues and customers
  • Significant sales and/or customer account management experience
  • Great time management to maximise efficiency and productivity of workload
  • Resourceful in meeting customer needs
  • Passion for customer service and to develop and maintain sustainable relationships
  • IT literate with experience of Outlook, Word and Excel and the ability to learn new systems
  • Thirst for knowledge of market trends/intel
  • Current knowledge of the national and international maritime industry an advantage

Wage, Working Hours & Benefits

  • Mon- Fri, 8.00-5.00 with 1 hour for lunch and additional breaks
  • £24,000 - £27,000 plus generous monthly commission and incentives
