Here at Downland Veterinary Group, we are looking for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The day-to-day duties are rotated between in-patient care, theatre duties, assisting with imaging, lab work, and consulting. If you have a drive for clinical excellence, teamwork and clinic care this role is perfect for you.

The rota involves working 32-38 hours per week over 4 days, open to discussion, with 1:6 Saturday mornings.

Downland Vet Group East Sussex is a lovely atmosphere to work in. We all work incredibly hard, wanting the best care for our patients & clients, but also make time to praise one another, support one another and take care of one another. We are continuously making improvements and developments, wanting to ensure we are providing the highest standards we possibly can. We each have our own CPD journeys, bringing something different to the team, whilst growing as individuals.

Additionally, we hold in-house CPD events throughout the year for all our Vets & Nurses. Outside of work, we have a summer event in which families of staff members are invited to, and a Christmas event in which partners are invited. During the year, we often get together for a ’tea party’ during work time to celebrate someone’s maternity leave, exam results or big birthday. In addition to this, we have Vet meetings, Nurse meetings and surgery meetings regularly.

At The Goffs and Hailsham surgeries, we have full dentistry facilities including dental x-rays, theatre and prep rooms, multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring, in-house laboratory and diagnostics, and ultrasound machine. We are continuously looking to improve so hoping in the near future to invest in endoscopy and more.

We are a very warm, supportive, and friendly team who offer our clients and patients the highest standard of care. Between the commitment to our roles and dedication to our patients, we spend much of our time laughing with each other. Within our team, we have 7 Vets, 8 Nurses and 8 support staff, working across the three surgeries who share the same vision for growth within the practice. Our clinical team each bring something different to the table, each having their own areas of interest in which we strongly encourage, including one of our Vets who is currently undertaking a Certificate in ECC. We have a regular Visiting Vet for orthopaedics and advanced surgery, plus other Visiting Vets for endoscopy, advanced ultrasonography, and ophthalmology.
