Here’s some stats about a client I work closely with A pay review every year 2019 - 2020 a 7.6% pay increase for all nurses and care staff 2020 - 2021 a 3.2% pay increase for all nurses and care staff This is a handsome £2.70 increase on the hourly rate in just two years. Plus incremental increases given for length of service at six months, 12 months and three years. Oh, and any overtime is paid at an increased rate of £26 per hour. Now, if development is what you’re after, I have another stat for you. A whopping 95% of all Senior roles (Clinical Lead and above) are recruited from within. So rather than go external to find the best talent, these guys look at who they have in their team already and provide the support and training to allow them to take on a bigger role. In fact, one of their Regional Managers started out as a part time carer. The pay is good, the staff retention rate is good, the workforce is happy. Everyone knows they will get fair pay for the job they do, as well as support and training, development if you want it and also the opportunity to complete additional courses through local universities.
