We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager to manage a 3 bed therapeutic children’s home in Barnstaple.

Supported by the RI, the Registered Manager will take responsibility for the management of the Home and maintain exceptionally high standards, provide leadership, support and direction to their team. The successful candidate will also need to be able to work with professionals and stakeholders from a wide range of external agencies.

The successful candidate will have experience within Children’s services with demonstrable leadership experience in managing teams in a Residential setting for at least two years. A level 5 Diploma or equivalent is essential so you will either have this or be motivated to undertake and complete it. A full driving license is essential.

Skills you will be sharing with the team:

  • To have overall responsibility for leadership and management of the service.
  • To maintain registered manager status with the regulator.
  • To manage people and resources to ensure high quality standards of care and are delivered to regulatory, contractual and organisational standards.
  • To develop a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  • To be responsible for service level business development and financial viability.
  • To ensure children have their needs met and receive excellent levels of emotional and physical care, within a service that offers a safe, nurturing and comfortable environment.
  • To ensure that care and support are provided by a team that is supportive and enabling, providing opportunities and experiences to instil positive values and reaffirm the importance of children enjoying their childhood.

You will help us by:

  • Within the last 5 years worked for at least 2 years in a residential childcare setting
  • Have a minimum 1 year’s experience of Supervision and Team Management in a care role
  • Proven record of maintaining person-centred support packages
  • Children/Young Person assessment skills including risk assessment.
