Your new company

A non-profit national organisation who focus on delivering clear pathways for children and young people with emotional behaviour disorder and complex needs. Their residential home situated in Barry will support 2 children and young people between the ages of 14-18 with a key aim on creating a nurturing and independence building environment to support young people with their personal care plans, setting them up with key life skills to transition in young adult life with confidence. The psychologically informed service will need the right candidate to ensure that the service is of the highest quality, to provide a home which embodies the organisations values and supports young people to achieve their potential.

Your new role
  • Engage with young people at every opportunity, building trusting and respectful relationships with them
  • Engage in fulfilling activities which you have assisted in the planning and implementation of
  • Work in partnership and liaise with the wider team and other multi agency professionals to remove any barriers to young people
  • Engage in individual’s transitioning periods by nurturing them to become a functioning member of wider society
  • Nurturing and managing staff teams
  • To make and maintain accurate records of activities and tasks carried out, including any incidents that may occur
  • Apply safeguarding and protection to vulnerable individuals and ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone you support
  • Look after the interests of the home and the company.
  • Oversee the day to day management, supervision and administration of the homes, ensuring that they are compliant with relevant legislation and standards
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the regulator (CIW) and remain up to date with all regulatory and legislation on requirements and ensure that effective two way communication takes place on all aspects of the service
  • Ensure clear communication with individuals via a range of methods and inspire them to carry out any tasks.
Driving Licence – essential
  • Residential experience as a registered manager
  • QCF/ NVQ L5 in Children and Young People
  • Good communication skills
  • Teamwork skills
  • Ability to navigate a challenging situation
  • Post subject to enhanced DBS check
  • Driving license – essential
What you’ll get in return
  • Salary: From £39,990
  • 26 days, plus statutory bank holidays, increasing annually by one day to 33 days
