How about taking on the role of Registered Children’s Home Manager for a Youth Support Charity?Want to lead a team to provide a vital service to children and young people, away from the trappings of a profit-based business and with an organisation that genuinely puts people first?This is a brand new role, for a brand new project based in Barry / Vale of Glamorgan. The charity we are working with are searching for a fully qualified Registered Manager, someone who can drive the project forward and deliver CIW Registered Accommodation for Children and Young people, over the age of 14.What are the basics?Salary of £42,816 per year 25 days leave + bank holidaysRising to 32 + bank holidays over time 8% pension (2% contributory)Permanent contract-Full Time 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday Assist with the On-Call Rota and when shifts/cover is needed Some out of hours as needed
  • TOIL will be given Responsible to Head of Service
  • Responsible for the Deputy Manager, Residential Childcare Workers and agency/relief staffWhat will you do? Take responsibility for managing all aspects of a Registered Residential Children’s Homes in line with CIW Regulations, the Home’s Statement of Purpose, Policies, Procedures and Values. Oversee the day to day management, supervision and administration of the homes, ensuring that they are compliant with relevant legislation and standards. Provide a comfortable, homely environment that delivers high quality care and support to our young people, empowering and enabling them through a multi-disciplinary approach to meet their individual needs Ensure appropriate activities are being achieved through a team of specialist support colleagues and wider therapeutic interventions. Ensure young people are provided with choice and a range of options in relation to their day to day lives including activities within the home and the community, attending events and being able to and encouraged to pursue hobbies and interests Also, ensuring a range of healthy and nutritious meals and snacks are available and that young people are involved in meal planning and preparation of food wherever possible. Ensure that at all times a sufficient number of suitably qualified, trained, competent and experienced staff are deployed to work at the homes through involvement in the recruitment, induction and management of the staff team within the homes as well as the arrangement and oversight of agency and relief staffing as required.What do you need? We need someone who already holds the qualifications to become a Registered Manager, as this is the first home being set up by this charity...they really need to bring in some experience Experience as a Registered Manager, in a Children’s Care environment would be perfect...or have run a registered home of some kind QCF Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent Level 4 in Management in Care or equivalent Knowledge of legislative framework, relating to the Care Standards Act 2000 Share the values of the charity: Trust, Respect, Don’t Give Up, Learn and Encourage Someone who can deal with difficult and challenging situations in a calm and professional mannerIf this Registered Manager role seems a great fit for you, and you want to learn more about the position and the charity...please get in touch with Keeran @ Moxie People.It would be great to have a confidential chat with you
