About the opportunity

Poundland is pleased to confirm we are looking for a Regional Trainer (in the South-West) to play a pivotal role as a critical member of our regional field team(s).

You will work closely with the Learning and Development Team, Regional People Partners and Retail Excellence Coach to support our retail management teams. Supporting newly appointed/promoted managers, as well as supporting colleagues on internal development programmes, you will play a fundamental role in ensuring store teams are operationally effective and successful in their roles.

You will also support building operational knowledge across the regional team, working alongside Retail Excellence Coaches to upskill managers and provide learning interventions according to the region’s needs.

You will manage the training records of the region, driving high levels of compliance and delivery of Learning and Development solutions to the highest standard.

What you’ll be doing...

As the Regional Trainer, your responsibilities will be.

  • Delivering training, development and coaching activities, meeting individual and/or team development needs with a specific focus on operational training
  • Designing and developing training courses and materials to support operational effectiveness using a range of media and platforms
  • Providing timely coaching and support colleagues to colleagues on an internal or external development programme
  • Working closely with the retail team to implement training plans and to reinforce customer excellence service experience
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of training and learner outcomes through evaluation and reporting for all training for the region, including refresher and compliance training and development programmes
  • Working in conjunction with Retail Excellence coaches to support development needs identified during OCA
  • Coordinating all regional L&D activity (including programmes) such as booking locations/rooms, sending and tracking invitations, driving attendance and evaluation
  • Delivering bite-size operational workshops with subject matter experts, e.g. profit protection and the People team
  • Embedding new initiatives and providing a feedback loop for what is landing well and what needs a different approach

What you’ll need...

To be successful, you will need to have experience in ….

  • Working in a retail environment - Store Manager experience would be an advantage
  • Delivering workshops or presentations
  • Managing programmes and reporting
  • Creating solutions to day-to-day operational issues
  • Engaging colleagues and driving performance through effective training, development, and coaching
  • Being well organised, good at planning own time with the ability to delegate
