Your new company

I have recently partnered with the UK’s largest distributor of decorative surfaces specialising in flooring, laminates, and panel products. This business has an annual turnover of over £120 million with regional branches that offer nationwide coverage while being especially responsive to needs at a local level.

Your new role

They are currently seeking to hire a Regional Sales Manager reporting directly into the Business Development Director with x 3 direct reports (x2 business development managers and 1 x key account manager).

The role is responsible for all business development and sales activities within the designated region (South Coast to East Midlands to Northampton) and requires someone with excellent sales and negation skills, the ability to motivate a team and to work under pressure

Role duties:

  • Manage the sales team and customers utilising the company CRM system
  • Prepare and present to the IDS board at the quarterly RBM, demonstrating short-, medium- and long-term strategy to grow business.
  • Understanding of the P&L for your business.
  • Manage & prioritise a data base of all the Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom, Office furniture manufactures in your region.
  • Create and distribute weekly and monthly reports.
  • Manage the performance (sales and margin) of customers contained in their portfolio meeting or excelling sales targets/budget
  • Manage the debt performance of representatives designated customers working closely with credit control and branch Managers
  • Development of business plans to realise new product opportunities
  • Secure new business opportunities
  • Maximise ‘face to face’ selling time
  • Develop sales turnover and gross margin for the Panel business
  • Control stock profile including keeping aged stock level to a minimum
  • Control customer & supplier claim handling
  • Build strong working relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Negotiate terms and offers with customers and suppliers
  • Conduct market research to gain knowledge of competitors
  • Implement product price lists
  • Review performance by branch and sales representative

What you’ll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have worked previously in the same or a similar industry, several years of internal and external sales experience, excellent sales and negotiation skills, good business acumen, the ability to motivate and lead a team and excellent communication and “people skills”.

What you’ll get in return

£50,000 to £55,000 basic salary

15% bonus based on basic salary

Car allowance £450 per month
