We have an exciting opportunity to join our ambitious team as a regional development manager. We want you to lead, develop and motivate your team of Project Managers and promote cross-team working and to help us achieve great results. Your direct report stream will be based in the Midlands area of our geography, so you need to be comfortable with travel and managing remotely. You will take operational responsibility of the day to day delivery of the development programme and projects, including land, S106, regeneration schemes and package deals.

You should support your team to support the business to deliver its strategies, you will have a keen eye for detail, and understand the importance of with robust and accurate forecasting. to include handovers, cashflow and charging activities to enable onward business planning. You’ll need to prepare reports for the senior leadership team, investment forum and board, and be an advocate for the new homes team. You must ensure projects are in line with policies and procedures, including audit compliance and securitisation detail, and all development activities delivered in line with and relevant health and safety/CDM requirements. You will always be focussed on the end customer for the home and ensuring that whether it is a home for sale or letting, you work closely with your peers to ensure a seamless process.

Your location isn’t important, finding amazing colleagues is, however this role will look after delivery in our northern areas (Staffordshire, West Midlands, Shropshire, Worcestershire, etc) and will manage a team based in these areas so knowledge of the area is essential. This role can be based at our Wolverhampton or Tewkesbury offices (WV10, GL20 postcodes) and will involve extensive travel and will include remote working and remote management.

We Want You To Be Somebody Who Has
  • A proven track record of delivering a variety of new build development programmes in a housing setting
  • Experience of the end to end management of projects, from inception to completion and advocates cross team working.
  • Great communication skills, who can work across all levels of the organisation and encourages peer to peer collaboration and team work
  • Experience of leading and motivating a team of dispersed colleagues to deliver a range of schemes
  • Ideally a degree-level education in a related field but qualification by experience will also be considered. and a built environment degree qualification/experience
  • Membership of, or working towards, a professional qualification (E.g. CIOB/RICS)
  • Housing association development experience
  • A proven track record of securing and delivering multiple new housing projects
  • Experience of leading a team to achieve a range of housing projects
  • Experience of delivering Homes England grant-funded programmes
  • Experience of financial appraisal tools, contract negotiations and charging requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of the development delivery process (including land, S106 and regen) including risk and finance appraisals (Pamwin)
  • Strong analytical, numerical, communication and negotiating skills
  • Leadership experience and uses a coaching approach to inspire and motivate team members
  • Strives to deliver excellent customer service and will be a great ambassador for Bromford.
