Job Role Overview

Supporting the Regional Financial Controller to establish an independent finance function for the region and in periodic reporting to Head Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Checking of weekly sales reports for issue to Group.
  • Input of Purchase Ledger Invoices relating to the regional office, matched to POs.
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve invoice queries.
  • Process ad hoc payment requests (PRAs) on the bank and post to cashbook.
  • Assisting with the consolidation and submission of the monthly cashflow pack
  • Assisting with the monthly site cashflow forecasts
  • Assisting Group by liaising with regional Buyers to help reduce the volume of site invoices in query
  • Ad hoc support for FC reporting duties.

Group duties (to be split to regions)

  • Process monthly council tax payments for sales offices, stock and PX properties.
  • Input of Hudson PAYE and CIS weekly payments
  • Input of weekly wages
  • Weekly Subcontractor payment run preparation
  • Processing of utilities invoices - Yorkshire Water & British Gas

Education

GCSE English & Maths Grade A-C

AAT qualified, or nearly qualified (QBE considered)

Experience

Experience of working in a similar role

Experience of working with COINS (desirable)

Key Knowledge and Skills

Literacy and numerical skills

Strong analytical skills

Intermediate to advanced level Excel

Good verbal and written communication skills

Personal Attributes

Motivated to learn and understand fundamental accounting principles.
