The Company
The Flooring Systems division offers a broad and attractive range of environmentally friendly natural linoleum, high-quality vinyl floors, entrance matting systems for cleaning and drying shoes, carpet tiles, needle felt, and Flotex, the washable high-tech textile flooring. Flooring Systems also provides ready-made adhesives for floor covering installations, parquet flooring, and ceramic tiles, leveling compounds for the construction industry as well as liquid floors under the trade name Eurocol.

The role:
The position is part-time 23.50 hours per week with an option to work either 08:00 am to 12:45 pm Monday to Friday OR 12.30 pm to 5.15 pm Monday to Thursday and 12.30 pm – 5 pm on a Friday. In this role you will work on site at Ripley at a large work station in the reception area which is protected by COVID safety screens. In this role you will answer and transfer all incoming calls to our 4 UK sites. The receptionist is required to manage all of the calls efficiently and effectively whilst demonstrating a high level of customer service. At the present time due to COVID-19, visitors to site are restricted but where we do have an exception, the receptionist is responsible for providing a professional welcome and confirming visitor details.

The successful candidate should:
  • Have experience in managing a busy switchboard. Experience of using an Avaya switchboard would be advantageous.
  • Be able to provide a high level of customer service to both internal employees and external customers over the phone, via email and face to face
  • Have the ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Have a good command of the English language
  • Be flexible to cover full time for holiday and sickness cover
  • Be computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook
  • Knowledge of SAP, but not essential as training will be given.

Key responsibilities for the position include:
  • Answer and direct all incoming calls quickly and effectively so that the customer and colleagues are put through to the person or department that they require.
  • To be first point of contact for all visitors and guests to the site (currently limited due to COVID-19).
  • To manage all incoming post and to ensure all outgoing mail and packages, including relevant paperwork, are prepared and ready for collection by the appropriate postal service.
  • Ensuring the phone directory is always kept up to date
  • Managing meeting room bookings
  • Main point of contact for managing the Ripley site work wear for all operations staff
  • Opening/locking up the reception area
  • Communicating and handing over effectively each day with the other receptionist
