CAT is seeking aReceptionist to act as first point of contact for all CAT enquiries and work as part of the reception team to provide outstanding front of house services to CAT guests and enquirers.

Overview of Role

CAT’s reception team aims to provide a high quality service to its range of customers who include day visitors, school groups, students, course attendees, B&B guests, events and conference delegates. CAT’s award-winning WISE building has 24 twin en-suite rooms and couples with the Self-Build house, Eco-Cabins and high quality conferencing facilities, all of which demonstrate sustainable building designs.

Working as part of the reception team, this role is to provide outstanding front of house services to CAT guests and enquirers. You will be the first point of contact for incoming calls, so will be responsible for transferring calls to relevant departments and/or, taking and ensuring messages are passed on in an appropriate time and in an appropriate manner. In order to do this, you will be expected to glean sound knowledge of CAT’s departments and be able to answer both written and oral queries in English and in Welsh.

Main Responsibilities

  • To deliver a high level of customer service to visitors and users of CAT accommodation and venue hire spaces.
  • To welcome guests booking into CAT accommodation and carry out associated registration and key issuing tasks.
  • To facilitate the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of reception, which involves:
    • Till operation, counter sales and cash reconciliation
    • Liaising with customers and all front of house operations, in person, by emails and on the telephone
    • Keeping reception area well presentable.
  • To provide room set up tasks as required.
  • Working with members of the caretaker team, ensure accommodation, staff areas and exhibition spaces across the CAT site are cleaned to an agreed schedule.
  • Holding keys for WISE and other buildings on-site and ensuring their security.
  • To provide guests with evacuation and emergency information as required by CAT’s Health and Safety Procedures.
  • To support the Visitor Services Manager in answering enquiries as needed and completing caretaker job lists.
  • Assist in the evaluation of visitor experience.
  • Check laundry in and out of site.
  • Monitoring and reporting on stock levels of consumable items.
  • Report Health & Safety issues.
  • Comply with GDPR regulations.
  • To train in first aid and act as duty first aider as required.
  • Answer queries in Welsh.
  • Any other appropriate duties as defined by the Visitor Services Manager and Head of Visitor Services.
