About the opportunity:

Jacobs is currently recruiting for a Reactor Physicist to work in our Modelling and Software team.
We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in the field of nuclear physics who can work with us on performing complex reactor plant analysis, as well work on the underpinning mathematical and physical theories of our ANSWESR suite of technical codes. Experience of managing tasks/projects of large size/high complexity in order to meet on-going project, customer and business needs would be an advantage. Strong software skills in a variety of languages including Python, Java and Fortran would also be useful for algorithm implementation.
In this role you will perform complex technical analyses, deliver technical training to customers using our ANSWERS suite of codes and support the development of our software product.. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of technical teams performing analysis work for a broad range of established and cutting-edge reactor designs.
This role will present excellent opportunities for the continual development of skills and experience in physics and mathematics, particularly where these are applied to nuclear engineering; also, the potential to lead technical developments and collaborations, working with the team responsible for their implementation. We also work collaboratively with leading UK universities, and can offer the opportunity to publish work and attend international conferences.
This role will be based at our Dorchester office with the opportunity to travel to client sites as required. Some home / remote working is also available and considered appropriate as we continue to face the challenges of COVID 19 and beyond. Consideration can also be given in respect to part time & flexible working hours.
