R&D Program Manager (SPC)

This key role will help drive the transformation to a Lean-Agile way of working using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Responsibilities

The R&D Program Manager will contribute to implementation of process, tooling, culture, training, and governance changes required to achieve the business benefits of a Lean-Agile way of working.

The R&D Program Manager is responsible for leading one or more R&D programs of technology development projects and enforcing standards of practice for R&D program and project management.

The R&D Program Manager will lead efforts within their programs to adopt industry standard process frameworks and tools, drive organizational structures to optimize value delivery, and facilitate continuous improvement efforts with regards to quality system processes and culture.

The R&D Program Manager supports R&D Portfolio Management in developing, collecting, and evaluating metrics and business cases for the creation and maintenance of the R&D program portfolio.

Education

Qualifications
  • BA, BS or equivalent, PMP preferred.
  • Demonstrated Project & Program Management skills or experience within the industry. Related business experience (project manager and/or equivalent) typically gained over several years.
  • SAFe RTE/SPC Certification
Experience
  • 8 – 10 years’ Program Management or Senior Project Management experience in a Lean-Agile/SAFe environment
  • 2 - 4 years’ experience in a regulated industry, with an emphasis on medical devices
  • A thorough understanding of Program Life Cycle management controls, with a thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the costs and complexities of infrastructure and software deployment projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor staff. Ability to manage and delegate work as part of a team in a matrix environment
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, and prioritizing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated responsiveness to inquiries and requests
