£32K - £36K per year dependent on knowledge and experience

About The Role

This is a newly created position that would suit an applicant working in a compliance role for a large food manufacturer. It is a role they can make their own and have an impact on the future direction of the business.

Barrowcliffes sources more than 120 raw materials and packaging items from around 30 suppliers and this role is responsible for for all raw materials and packaging entering our sites and you will be the primary contact with customers on all raw material related issues.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all raw materials and packaging meet our own requirements and that of our customers. This requires a high degree of supplier management to ensure compliance with customer codes of practice.

You will work closely with the Procurement teams to ensure all new sources of supply and existing suppliers have supplier approval, developing raw material specifications in conjunction with the Technical Departments and risk assessing new raw materials for compliance to food safety, customer sourcing codes of practice and all current relevant legislation.

The Raw Materials Compliance Manager will also be responsible for the managing a Goods Intake Lead and Goods Intake Technician who are based at the site in Carlton and training of personnel at all sites responsible for goods intake ensuring the necessary controls, procedures and acceptance criteria for raw material intake are adhered to.

About You

You will be self-motivated, possess the ability to work autonomously and enjoy being challenged and able to multi-task and work under pressure.

You will possess the drive and passion to motivate others to continuously improve in a positive and enthusiastic manner and have strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. You will also have experience in producing and presenting technical reports and presentations with ease.

You are able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with suppliers, customers and internal Departments across all levels of the organisation.

Previous experience working within Food Manufacturing ideally within a fresh produce environment and supplier management experience including supplier auditing would be advantageous.

Skills And Qualifications, You Have

A degree or equivalent on Microbiology, Food Science, Food Technology or a related subject.
Previous supplier management experience including supplier auditing.
Minimum of 2 years in a technical or similar role.

Minimum Of 1 Year Supervisory Experience.

Minimum 1 years’ experience in raw material control/management.

Knowledge of Quality & Food Safety Procedures.
Level 3 in Food Safety.
Level 3 HACCP.
Internal Auditor Training.
Some business travel expected between other sites in Beeston, Nottingham and Flixborough, Scunthorpe and to Suppliers and Customers in the performance of this role.

Fully expensed Pool Car is available for all business travel.
