Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to announce their continued partnership with a Globally leading manufacturer in the search and selection for a new Raw Materials Buyer based in Goole.


Reporting into the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for a spend of £30-50M and tasked with sourcing on a Global scale with a portfolio of 20-25 Suppliers.


Role Summary

Key to this role will be the ability to source and develop supplier relationships, ensuring the flow and supply of Raw Materials to meet the Manufacturing requirements. This will include the development of contracts, frameworks and continued improvement of services.

Working closely with internal teams such as Design, Planning, Sales & Forecasting, you will hold a spend of £30-50M across a range of categories including wood, foam and consumables.

This Raw Materials Buyer’s Duties & Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Manage a spend of £30-50M across a range of suppliers based in the UK & Europe
  • Implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies
  • Ensuring arrangements and supplier management processes are in place to meet all business objectives and operational needs
  • Negotiate contract terms with key suppliers – ensuring value for money
  • Appraise and review current supplier portfolio against set KPIs
  • Propose and justify material costs in the annual budget process
  • Forecast price and market trends where possible whilst anticipating shifts in the negotiating powers of the suppliers



Elevation Procurement and Supply Chain are keen to speak with individuals that meet the following skills and experience:

  • Proven background in global sourcing techniques
  • Managed spends at a similar level to £30M+
  • CIPS/Degree Qualified
  • Manufacturing environment experience
  • Proven ability to negotiate and sustain working relationships at all levels
