UL specialises in testing and certifying of consumer electronics including Wireless, Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC), Radio (RF) and Safety Testing.

Role and Scope
This is a junior / trainee-level Laboratory opportunity within the UL Consumer, Medical & Information Technology team, ideally suited to someone who has recently gained vocational engineering, electronics or science - based qualifications and has a huge passion for electronics or technology. UL will provide appropriate on the Job training and development to support the successful applicant.

You will work as part of teams that carry out Radio / RF Testing or Wireless certification.

Duties
  • Radio /RF type approval testing on a wide range of products, requiring certification.
  • Calibration of equipment and general laboratory related maintenance / upkeep.
  • Generation of technical reports, which appropriately detail all aspects of testing.
  • To update the company work monitoring systems with accurate details of testing and overall job status, for each item of work for which the Laboratory Technician is responsible.
  • To meet customer delivery requirements in all respects.

What Makes You a Great Fit

Applicants are required to have some level of engineering/science based qualifications and a willingness to learn. The role will also include the generation/creation of technical reports therefore good verbal, written communication skills and attention to detail is essential.

A basic understanding of radio technologies (LTE, WCDMA, WLAN, and Bluetooth) and testing equipment including spectrum analysers and signal generators is desirable.
