A client within the Public Sector based in East Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to provide support and advice, ensuring clients receive a professional high-quality service.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Provide feasibility studies, preliminary estimates, cost plans, databases, tenders and provide advice on the economics of design at the early stages of a project and the use of whole life costing techniques.
  • Prepare high quality tender documentation.
  • Undertake pricing documentation during tender period.
  • Examine and analyse tenders and negotiate contract sums, preparation of cost breakdowns and initial cost profile.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related discipline or working towards or demonstrate significant relevant experience as well as a Professional Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

  • Hold a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain.
  • Familiar with relevant Construction, Health and Safety Legislation and Risks and Hazards associated with Asbestos.
  • Knowledge of latest CDM Regulations, and must have knowledge of contractual procedures and financial regulations.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £27 - £28 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
